A VPN (virtual private network) is an encrypted „tunnel“ between your computer or phone and a server. All traffic that passes through it is encrypted and protected from eavesdropping. In practice this means three things: you connect securely to company systems from anywhere, you hide your real IP address from the websites and services you visit, and your team has one fixed outgoing IP address – for example for whitelisting in internal systems and admin panels.
There are several typical reasons: (1) your team works remotely and needs to access internal systems, ERP or the e‑shop administration, (2) you want developers and externals to have secure access to production without passing certificates and passwords around over Slack, (3) you want to protect yourself and your team when connecting to public Wi‑Fi (cafés, hotels, airports), or (4) you want the company to have one fixed outgoing IP address – for example for whitelisting in internal systems, GitHub Actions, a delivered API or a CMS admin.

No. The VPN is a standalone managed service – just like a domain or web hosting, you simply order it from us. You do not have to deal with any server or administration.
The VPN runs in a datacenter in Prague, in Czech jurisdiction and in the EU. We do not store the content of the traffic passing through the tunnel – we do not record where you go or what you download. For operational and security purposes we keep only the necessary metadata (connection time, volume of transferred data), for the period set by accounting and security regulations. Certificates and configuration are managed by the Váš Hosting technical team – for key rotation and the option of immediate revocation when a user leaves. Within 10 minutes of ordering. After deployment you log in to the Customer Portal, create users and download the .ovpn files – or send them directly by e‑mail.
Yes. The OpenVPN client is available for Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS. You download the configuration file (.ovpn) directly from the portal, open it in the client and you are connected.
After the service is cancelled we delete the VPN server and all certificates. Local copies of the .ovpn files you downloaded earlier will stop working. If you need help preparing before cancellation, get in touch with support – we will advise you.
The portal simply will not let you add another user – the limit cannot be exceeded. If your team grows, you move to a higher plan: just write to support, we handle the transition manually without any VPN outage and without reinstallation.
Every customer gets their own VPS server – not a shared instance. Your traffic, your configuration, your certificate authority. No one else can see into your VPN.
The server is connected to a 1Gb/s symmetric line. For dozens of users doing regular office work that is more than enough. If you are planning a larger deployment, get in touch – we will discuss your specific scenario.
Each VPN instance has its own dedicated outgoing IP address – this applies to all plans including Basic. Ideal for whitelisting in internal systems, e‑shop admin panels or API gateways.
In the Customer Portal, go to the given user and remove their certificate. Access is revoked immediately – the user will no longer connect through your VPN.
Yes, we invoice as standard, just like other Váš Hosting services. After ordering you receive a tax document with VAT. You enter your company ID and VAT ID during registration in the Customer Portal.
